Everybody needs support once in a while. Everybody struggles at times. However, I am very well aware that coming to therapy can be scary.

You may be wondering if therapy is going to help you or, if I (or any therapist) is the right fit for you.

It’s honorable to be in uncertainty. In fact, it’s important to do your research and get a real sense of how each therapist works.

This is where individual therapy with me can help.

In individual therapy, the space is yours.  We can explore the various issues that are troubling you. Then, we can uncover what may be the roots to these issues.

In therapy, you get to set the pace. I, as your therapist, am simply a guide and support.  So you get to determine what your goals are and what you want to talk about and work on.

I, on the other hand, point out patterns and reflect back my observations.  I’ll also be non-judgmental and non-pathologizing.  In other words, I believe that there is nothing inherently wrong with you and that you are very capable of healing.

I don’t want you to suffer anymore.

I approach therapy through a holistic prospective. Holistic therapy methods are very effective in treating anxiety, self-esteem, depression, codependency, trauma, and more. 

Through individual therapy, I want to help you find lasting and sustainable healing. I want to help you find methods that don’t involve taking a pill, so that you can find relief.  I want to help you develop self confidence and to be comfortable in your own skin.

Gradually, you may even start to experience more moments of happiness and joy in your life.

Individual therapy can bring more than just relief.  With time, the healing can also allow you to feel more joy, happiness and presence.

As your therapist, I will support you in uncovering the root(s) of your issue. Together, we will explore the many experiences that have influenced you and lead you to where you are today. 

In addition to traditional talk therapy, I utilize holistic (mind-body-spirit) methods to help access the root(s) of the issue so you can heal — deeply, quickly and effectively.  Some of the methods I use, but are not limited to, include Brainspotting, Mindfulness, Breathwork, Dream work, Guided imagery, Art interventions, Sand Tray, and Somatic (body-based) Resourcing.

When you are in individual therapy with me, I am not only concerned about what you want to heal, but where you would like to be

I often ask my clients in the first session where they would like to see themselves in 5 or 10 years from now — what does it look like, what does it feel like?  What has changed? What’s different about you and how you’re being in the world?  I firmly believe that we can never quite get to where we want to be, until we can tap into the feeling and name what we would like to experience.

As a therapist, I am non-judgmental and accepting of where my clients are in the moment. 

I believe that everyone is capable of transformation.  Therefore, my belief is that the reason mental health issues develop is due to unfortunate life circumstances that lead us to develop behaviors and other mechanisms to cope.

Above all, I believe that everyone is capable of unraveling themselves from a state of fear, anxiety, shame, sadness, anger, guilt, and self-doubt to a state where they can feel joy and live their lives to their fullest potential.
